Some background...
ASDA were looking to run a promotion that would add a bit of fun to their in-store activity. Umbrella were brought on board to advise on a Pancake Flipping Challenge which invited customers to beat the World Record and win a £100,000 prize.
The mechancics...
The ASDA Milton Keynes store invited customers to enter the Pancake Flipping Challenge prior to the event and 25 participants were drawn from those entries. On Pancake Day the 25 participants competed to beat the World Record for the number of times they could flip a pancake. The prize fund available to anyone who achieved this feat was £100,000.
Lots of fun was had and you’re bound to be wondering… did anyone beat the World Record? No, there were some good attempts but no record breakers! However, even if there had been a £100,000 winner, ASDA wouldn’t have needed to worry, as the entire amount would have been covered by a minimal fee, courtesy of Umbrella.
