Some background...
Following a successful three month trial in the UK, Guinness were looking to roll out their campaign to bring the "smoother sweeter taste" of Guinness Red to pubs across the country. We worked with them on a sales promotion focusing on central regions and using regional press to offer free pints.
The mechancics...
A large advert was placed in 7 central regional press titles which featured a coupon for a free pint of Guinness Red. Each regional title had a different list of participating outlets listed in the advert. Consumers had to fill in their details and take their voucher to any of the participating outlets in order to redeem one free pint of Guinness Red. All participating outlets received a kit with envelope for claiming back their refund.
