When Unilever embarked on a sales promotion using IVR technology they approached Umbrella to support them. The competition aimed to reinforce Surf’s ‘Gets rid of 99 top stains’ cleaning proposition. It was an on-pack phone-in, which offered 1 in 99 consumers the chance to win £99. The consumer was required to phone a promotional number, enter their URN and receive a win/lose message. Every 99th person to call was a winner. The supporting creative on the pack was bright, colourful and vibrant, ensuring it would create huge impact and standout in the laundry isle. Umbrella was able to draw on their previous experience of IVR campaigns and apply this to calculations when putting together the insurance for this prize fund.
